Proportional Response was hard to put down, partly not just the fact that it was intriguing and quite a page turner, but because of the author’s writing. This is my first time reading one of Vucak’s books and this is very well written.
The author is very knowledgeable about the clashes of American and Chinese cultures. The distrust between the two cultures with the mix of international politics that could spark a global disaster brings this story to life. It’s full of the American “alphabet soup”. “That is why this FBI investigation is so important, Qishan. We must identify and eliminate dissident elements within the Party. If we fail, we could end up like the American Congress, a dysfunctional institution that has paralyzed America’s ability to be a truly dominant global power.”
I look forward to reading more of his work.
