Stefan Vucak has written an intriguing science fiction novel involving three heroes who have set out on a mission while experiencing hardship and emotional strife during an attack via Kran. New allies have come out of hiding, providing technological advancements that help Terr to become more powerful when having to confront Death.

I did not realize that there were earlier novels prior to Guardians of the Shadow and so I did not know I was jumping into a story that had already started. I was, however, glad to see that there were many references to information in earlier novels that would explain certain scenarios that would have raised some questions without the references. I was able to catch up on the dynamics of the characters and after seven novels, I was able to see a change in the characters and their personalities as they experienced new battles and situations. I was very pleased with the way Vucak has organized the novel because it was very easy for me to jump into the novel without any prior information, so I would highly recommend this novel, as well as the books prior to Guardians of Shadow.
