Against the Gods of Shadow is both complex and thrilling sci-fi, clothed in a nuanced language sustaining evocative descriptions, a book I can’t imagine any fan of the genre will regret having read; and that I can imagine lots of people, like me, being thoroughly enthralled by.
I will certainly be reading more from this author, and if you are a fan of the science fiction genre, I would recommend Fulfillment, a first-class collection of tales for the most discerning of aficionados.
I would recommend purchasing the previous books in this series since the writing is superb, but with having the foreknowledge of what led up to the events in this story, it would be more enjoyable.
Stefan’s polished prose intensifies this very strange story and encourages the reader to invest in the previous seven volumes. Book 8 assures that he has another success to add to his growing stature.
